This is a micro-lot and 100% single varietal coffee from Colombia.
Produced by Ener Alfonso, a 4th generation family producer from the Cauca region, municipality of La Vega. His farm sits at 2062+ masl, high altitude leads to slow maturation and sweeter cherry, hence coffee. A small 4 hectare farm producing this 100% Castillo varietal coffee.
Finca El Naranjo has been farmed since Ener’s grandparents, past down to Ener’s father and now Ener. He enjoys living and working the farm with his mother and wife. Coffee is their sole income. This competition lot was fermented 22 hours and 100% sun dried on the farm.
This coffee came in 4th place winner as part of the Colombia auction that was presented by the FNC.
The idea is to get producers in certain areas and they will auction off their coffees. Its like a regional Cup of Excellence
